I’m trying to help my girlfriend get her nursing license from Texas endorsed here so she can work in Louisiana. Let me tell you that all of Louisiana’s online forms are absolutely terrible. It isn’t just the DMV.

Got a ticket driving thru LA once, paid it off, didn’t hear about it again until over a year later, because they’d issued a warrant for failure to pay. This suspended my TX license. Nobody ever sent me any notification.

Had to prove that the ticket was paid, then pay a TX for driving w/ suspended license, a license re-instatement fee, and the good ol’ Texas surcharge ($260 x3).

Because the little parish sheriff’s office doesn’t do anything quick.

I’m not from here, I’m just living here for a while. I came to the Baton Rouge area after Katrina to help with recovery efforts. I’m 9th generation Texan, but my living relatives are spread out over multiple states, so it’s hard to say where home is these days.
